US/C2 Overview
US/C2 missionaries are college graduates who serve two years under
appointment with the North
American Mission Board (NAMB), and participating state conventions or the
Canadian Convention of Southern Baptists. US/C2 missionaries make a significant
contribution in reaching North America for Christ.
US/C2 is a missionary strategy designed to impact evangelism and church
planting in the United States, US territories, and Canada. Ministry by US/C2
missionaries focus on the lost and unchurched and are most effective when they
work in cooperation with an experienced local supervisor and other missions
personnel.
This strategy:
- Provides recent college or seminary graduates with opportunities to gain
first-hand experience during two years of missionary service.
- Intentionally nurtures college or seminary graduates for future service as
ministers, missionaries, and church leaders, both in vocational ministry and in
an on-mission lifestyle.
- Is a limited-term missionary resource that supports the immediate and/or
long-term strategies of Southern Baptist churches, associations, state or
Canadian conventions, and other entities working in evangelism and church
planting.
- Challenges individuals in spiritual growth and ministry in Christ’s
name.
- Seeks to enlist those who strive for excellence in serving Jesus
Christ.
A typical US/C2 candidate is a recent college or seminary graduate,
typically a young adult with limited experience. US/C2 offers a basic support
package. The support package includes a stipend, full medical benefits, housing
and meals. The support package is best suited to a single person who has no or
minimal debt.
